Job Posting: Field Representative
- The Foundation for Historical Lnowouisiana is accepting applications for the new position of Field Representative to the nine parish capital region and selected preservation activities in New Orleans with other duties as determined. FHL seeks a motivated, responsible, and organized individual to develop and implement a three year grant award appointment in partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
- Responsibilities will include: assessing the current preservation service gaps in the Baton Rouge Capital Region; providing a broad range of general preservation assistance to communities and individuals; and developing and overseeing a preservation strategy for each of the Foundation for Historical Louisiana’s “Treasures in Trouble.”
- Candidates should have historic preservation training and work experience. Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of the preservation network in Louisiana, as well as a good understanding of building materials and systems used in old structures.
- Staff member will be a visible and vocal advocate for preservation. Additionally will lead and coordinate advocacy efforts with local historic groups, neighborhoods, and organizations.
- To apply, you must have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in a related field with a degree in historic preservation desired. Master’s preferred or comparable experience in the field. Extensive use of own automobile required. Knowledge of latest historic preservation techniques and issues. Public speaking, evening hours as needed, extensive case load anticipated.
