Update: Spanish Town appeal nixed

The Metro Council decided Wednesday not to consider Spanish Town landowner Richard Preis’ appeal of the Historic Preservation Commission’s claim that he is effectively demolishing seven rental properties in the neighborhood by neglecting them.

After debating whether to defer action for 90 days or let the appeal move forward, the council voted 10-1, with one member absent, to send Preis back to the preservation commission.
