The Foundation for Historical Louisiana Plans for 2008
As we approach a new year, our aspirations guide us to higher goals and expectations for ourselves and our community. At the Foundation for Historical Louisiana, it is a time to renew and recommit to the organization's longtime mission: preserving the architectural and cultural heritage of Louisiana. We have carefully focused and selected preservation advocacy projects that will drive the organization's work for 2008. Here are a few:
- Historic Baton Rouge Magnet High School
- Charity Hospital of New Orleans
- Historic Shushan (N.O. Lakefront) Airport
- St. Mary's Episcopal Church, West Feliciana
- LSU French House Restoration
- Carville Historic District
- 1928 Huey P. Long Fieldhouse Pool
- Old St. Gabriel Catholic Church
- Old Governor's Mansion Original Cypress Windows
Please help us by joining FHL, renewing your membership, or honoring FHL with a year-end gift. We welcome a donation of ANY amount Our city and state cannot suffer another loss like the demolition of the Union Tank Car Geodesic Dome.
We also ask that your consider helping us find philanthropists and corporate entities to forever make an indelible mark on preservation in our community. The Foundation has been chosen by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to apply for a one to one challenge match for donations of $10,000 or greater. This may be payable over three years at $3,333 per year. A pledge is needed before January 14, 2008. It is an honor for FHL to be selected to participate! With these funds we will hire a staff member to work exclusively on preservation advocacy and technical assistance Contributions are fully tax-deducible.
